Green Energy Advantages
Biofuel and specifically, biodiesel, is the most viable solution for the replacement of fossil fuels and the reduction of the damages caused by their use.
There are several advantages to using biofuel produced from castor oil beans and Jatropha curcas seeds:
- Biodiesel releases less harmful pollutants when used in diesel engines – biodiesel produces 80% less CO2 emissions, and 100% less sulphur dioxide
- Diesel blends containing up to 20% biodiesel can be used in unmodified diesel engines.
- Castor and Jatropha crops not only produce lower quantities of pollutants, they actually contribute to the removal of CO2 from the atmosphere – the plants naturally absorb CO2 from the atmosphere while growing.
- Castor bean and Jatropha crops can be cultivated on marginal land. They do not compete with food crops for arable land and no forest clearing or any other environmentally destructive processes are necessary.
- Castor bean and Jatropha are not part of the food chain – prices will not fluctuate under the influence of the food markets, and no food shortages will be caused by the mass production and usage of these crops as biofuel.
- Biofuel is a naturally renewable energy source.
Bio Fuel
Biofuel is a natural and renewable fuel alternative, produced from vegetable
oils. It contains no petroleum, is non-toxic and biodegradable. The term
includes biodiesel and ethanol.
